Making abayas in Abu Dhabi since 1990
Blue Diamond Abaya & Sheila has been making abayas in Abu Dhabi since 1990, trading as Blue Diamond Tailoring. The showroom in Madinat Zayed is over 100 square metres and the sewing happens in the workroom behind it. We also manufacture for independent modest-fashion labels.
Thirty-five years on the same street, behind the same building. We cut and sew what we sell, which is increasingly unusual and is the reason our prices look the way they do.
Why does it matter that you manufacture?
Because almost every abaya shop you will walk into is a reseller. They buy finished pieces and mark them up. We buy cloth by the roll, cut it here and sew it here, so the only margin in the price is ours.
It also means we can change things. A reseller can sell you what is in the box. We can shorten it, reshape it, or cut the same design again in a different fabric.
Do you manufacture for other labels?
Yes. We produce limited lines for independent modest-fashion designers, working to their own patterns. We keep it low-key, but it is worth saying: if other designers choose to have their pieces made here, that tells you more about the workroom than anything we could write about ourselves.

Yes, across the UAE and worldwide. You can send measurements over WhatsApp. Delivery is charged at the courier’s own rate — we do not offer free delivery.
